How to double the size of your business... even in a recession
For some time now, I have wondered how I could do more in response to the onslaught of negativity that comes from the media on a daily basis.
Running and growing a business is hard enough without a backdrop of constant doom and gloom from television, radio, the internet and newspapers.
Well, after six months of researching, reading, writing, asking, I now feel I have that response.
My own story
I became a freelance accountant in 2005 but it wasn’t until 2007 where I really started to deliberately to grow my business. In August 2007, I moved into my first office (it felt like a big step at the time) with my 2 hour a week bookkeeper and got to work.
One month later, the credit crunch happened, thousands of people queued outside Northern Rock and the economy hit the skids! It has never recovered from that month. I write this in March 2012 and we have almost had five years of continuous economic decline.
So far, I have run a business in one month of a good economy and almost five years of recessionary times.
I personally have only ever managed and grown a business in a recession!
Here’s the kicker…..
Despite the recession, I have managed to double the size of my business not once, not twice but three times in the last four and a half years.
Why I want to help you
The one area I love in my own business is client contact and helping people grow their businesses.
